Eis Piccolo
This interesting lightweight alluminium teardrop trailer was made in Germany by a fridge manufacturer, Eis.
Little is known about the numbers built or how many still survive. The name Piccolo is also subject to some conjecture as this title is also given to a plans-based plywood DIY replica. There were three versions of the Eis teardrop, a standard sleeping unit, a cargo version intended for commercial use and a fabric-roofed version which doubled as a small boat.

The Falcon Sleeper
Made by Falcon Design of somerset this new British GRP teardrop trailer self assembly kit is also available fully assembled.
Known to UK kit car and 2CV enthusiasts for their self-assembly Lotus Seven clones based on the citroen 2CV this new teardrop could make the classic camping trailer a viable option for classic car enthusiasts without the facilities, time or inclination to build from scratch
Reminiscent of the Eis/Piccolo units, this teardrop weighs just over 1 cwt in standard trim and can be towed by just about any car in use today.
The standard finish is cream but the sleeper can be purchased in a range of other colours for a small additional fee.

I went to the Kit Car Show at the Devon County Showground near Exeter (17/11/02) looking for ideas for indepenent rear suspension for the Yam Trike. I was pleasantly surprised to find this Teardrop Trailer kit there. It's made of fibreglass, will take a 4' X 6'6" mattress inside and costs £999.

Saprar Ailette Teardrop Trailer
This interesting lightweight metal teardrop trailer was sold in France and appears to be identical to the Eis Piccolo.
Little is known about the numbers built, who actually built them or how many still survive. It was apparently sold under the Renault flag as an approved Saprar accessory.
