2005 Detroit: Subaru's new 2006 B9X luxury crossover snagged on location
At the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Subaru will officially take the wraps off the luxury crossover sport/ute it has been teasing for the past few months (AW, Nov. 15). Thanks to AutoWeek reader Mike Andrzejewski of California who recently came across a video shoot of the new vehicle in Long Beach, we get to share the 2006 Subaru B9X a little earlier than Subaru may have expected.

B9X, a seven-seat crossover powered by a 3.0-liter H6 engine linked to Subaru's symmetrical all-wheel-drive system, arrives this summer in the U.S. B9X will be followed in 2006 by the Saab version, tentatively dubbed 9-6X, which makes its world debut next spring at the New York auto show. Both vehicles will be built at Subaru's plant in Indiana.

2006 Subaru B9 Tribeca SUV goes on sale this summer

Detroit, Michigan - Subaru revealed its all-new seven-passenger SUV, the 2006 Subaru B9 Tribeca.

"The all-new 2006 Subaru B9 Tribeca is a step in a new direction for Subaru and brings versatility and agility to the traditional SUV market," said Kunio Ishigami, Chairman, president and CEO of Subaru of America, Inc. "The Subaru B9 Tribeca is the new flagship for the Subaru line-up and combines a bold new design with the trademark Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system, and is our first seven passenger vehicle."

The Subaru B9 Tribeca takes the Subaru brand into a new market segment and is positioned above the current Subaru Legacy and Outback line of vehicles. The all-new SUV is equipped with a 250 horsepower "Boxer" six-cylinder engine.

"The Subaru B9 Tribeca will shake up the staid SUV segment while delivering our tried and tested Symmetrical All-Wheel drive system with a dose of high style," said Fred Adcock, Executive Vice President, Subaru of America, Inc. "With its unique exterior design, bold high-tech interior and flexible seven passenger seating capability, the Subaru B9 Tribeca is more than just a new style of Subaru. It is a progressively designed SUV that combines the fun-to-drive handling, manoeuvrability and fuel efficiency found in Subaru sport wagons with the roominess and capability of an SUV."

The key focal point of the Tribeca is the bold new grille design. Viewed from the front, a central air intake dominates the face. The air intake is flanked by two "wings" that relate to the history of Subaru as an aircraft manufacturer. Inside, a sophisticated twin cockpit design echoes the front grille treatment, with a flowing, sculpted dash and centre console design.

Second row rear seats feature a sixty/forty split bench and a forty/twenty/forty split rear seat back with fold-flat capability. The second row seats slide eight inches fore and aft for improved rear passenger and third row comfort. Second row seats also recline independently in a sixty/forty split. The third row seats provide accommodations for two passengers and fold flat in a fifty/fifty split for a more flexible cargo space.

The Tribeca is capable of towing trailers of up to 3500 pounds with the available accessory towing package.

The 2006 Subaru B9 Tribeca will go on sale early summer of 2005, and will be built at the Subaru of Indiana Automotive plant in Lafayette, Indiana. More info is available at www.subarub9tribeca.com.

Me gusta mucho,xo para mi gusto le falla la parte trasera,el paragolpes en concreto,no os recuerdo un poco al cayenne por delante?

SIEMPRE LES SUCEDE LO MISMO ALOS COREANOS...

PARECE QUE NO PUEDEN PRESCINDIR DE ESCENIFICAR LA PARRILLA ......A VER SI MIRAN UN POCO EL NUEVO CITROEN DONDE LA PARRILLA ES APENAS UNA RANURA...Y NO UN ELEMENTO DE SUPUESTO "PRESTIGIO" DESTINADO A LA CLASE MEDIA ALIENADA DE u.s.a...

ME PARECE QUE TODAVÍA TIENEN MUCHO QUE APRENDER A NIVEL DE DISEÑO.....
