range rover dormobile
Martin Walter built five 3 door Range Rover Dormobiles during the 1970's for a special order. They had a lift up roof, 2 cloth covered top bunks, no cooking facility or reclining seats.

Carawagon Series 100
The conversion was known as the 'Series 100' and was available with a wide variety of accessories for its use as accomodation for two people.
The standard rear seat was removed and replaced with two opposing bench seats along the rear sides, which were mounted over the wheel arches. These provided rear seating with storage space under the seat bottoms and also converted into two beds. A table could be erected between the two rear seats to provide a dining table or a work area in the rear. Privacy curtains that closed off all the windows were also standard.
The console between front seats was a beautifully crafted box which contained a sink, with electrically pumped water, and a two burner stove. The console lid cantilevered back to become the rear centre table. Two swivel lamps were added above the rear seats to provide light for the dining table or a spot of bed time reading. A fluorescent lamp was fitted above the rear door to provide general lighting to the interior of the vehicle. There was a fitted wardrobe, 3'-3" (1.0m) tall for clothing storage at the rear, opposite the spare wheel.
A fridge was fitted beside the spare wheel and was wired into the vehicles electrics. The water container fitted behind the wardrobe and the gas cylinder for the stove was located under the console. To allow the gas cylinder to be filled without removing it from the vehicle, a filling point was provided under the bonnet. Other options that could be fitted included a portable refrigerator or cool box, a toilet, a second battery, a fuel fired heater, rear tent extension, fly screens, etc..
The elevating roof was similar to that used on the 109 Carawagon and consisted of several metal panels hinged together. It also had ply end panels which folded up and locked the roof in place. This was extremely easy and could be erected in a couple of minutes!

Carawagon model 80
techo subido
(https://www.expeditionlandrover.info/LR.images/carawagon1.jpg)
y bajado
(https://www.expeditionlandrover.info/LR.images/carawagon3.jpeg)

The model 100 came with a pop up roof that provided 188 cm (6'2") of head space in the centre. The pop up area was 193 cm X 125 cm (6'4" X 4').
